There are 11550 medical items in the library: 4824 monographic publications (books) in Serbian, 4141 in foreign languages (English), 1361 serial publications (journals), 172 monographs, dictionaries, handbooks and encyclopedias, and 892 master theses and doctoral dissertations. In addition to this, the Faculty of Medicine is a member of KOBRSON project, so online search of the KOBRSON database is available.
Library is available to students of all study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine and provides them with basic books for examinations. Also, there are library items for vocational and professional development of interns, postgraduates and other medical staff. Library buys new editions of textbooks and other medical books and thus updates the catalog and gives insight into the latest findings in the field of medical sciences. Distribution of smaller number of editions of certain books to greater number of students is possible under special terms which are regulated by the library.
Library has its own reading room (in the library) with 4 computers and 24-hour Internet access. In addition to this, there is a reading room at the Faculty consisting of 124m2 and 86 seats, and reading room in the city center with 70 seats. The Faculty has electronic reading room (IT center) with 32 computers and 24-hour Internet access.
The use of library items is marked by electronic database performed in MC Access (model of standard library program).
Library of the Faculty of Medicine Foca collaborates with the Library of Faculty of Medicine Sarajevo and libraries of Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Belgrade in terms of exchange of necessary scientific information, master theses, doctoral dissertations and other items from the catalog.
